Description | After Jujol graduated, he went to work for Gaudí in 1906. Casa Batlló was the first building he was allowed to work on. He not only made the paintings in the private chapel, but also several pieces of furniture. He contributed to decorative elements in the first-floor rooms, including the wooden doors. However, Jujol's main contribution was the ceramic surface of the facade. It was to become an undulating mosaic of shimmering colorful fragments, on which a generous scattering of round tiles in varying sizes produced the effect of scales on a skin. |
